B.Ling
Mooch Slippery Slidey
8 × 7 inches
Oil paint on vinyl coated cardboard
After visiting the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, B Ling became captivated by Picasso’s cardboard paintings, their rawness, their immediacy, and the stories hidden in the material itself.
Cardboard carries traces of travel and touch. Where has it been, what did it once hold, and what urgency made it the chosen surface? B Ling saw that desperation to create and reimagined it through Mooch Form.
This piece is painted on vinyl coated cardboard, cut by hand into the shape of a Mooch. The surface resists the brush, shiny, slippery, demanding intuition over control. In that resistance, movement emerges.
The painting is of B Ling herself, an exploration of self taught technique, presence, and the poetry of painting on air.
