B.Ling
Mooch Slippery Slidey
8 × 7 inches
Oil paint on vinyl coated cardboard
After visiting the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, B.Ling became captivated by Picasso’s cardboard paintings — their rawness, their immediacy, and the stories hidden in the material itself.
Cardboard carries traces of travel and touch: where has it been, what did it once hold, and what urgency made it the chosen surface?
B.Ling saw that desperation to create — and reimagined it through Mooch Form.
This piece is painted on vinyl-coated cardboard, cut by hand into the shape of a Mooch.
The surface resists the brush — shiny, slippery — demanding intuition over control.
In that resistance, movement emerges.
The painting is of B.Ling herself — an exploration of self-taught technique, presence, and the poetry of painting on air.
