The Mooch Box is a singular artwork by Bipasha Elizabeth Ling. An Elektron Digitakt 1, housed in a custom-designed Mooch Case, this work functions simultaneously as instrument, archive, and sculptural object. Contained within are Ling’s original samples and compositions — fragments of her sonic practice embedded directly in the machine.
The work reflects Ling’s ongoing exploration of Bashion merged with Bechnology: a synthesis of fashion, design, and technological objecthood, reconfigured through the lens of the Mooch. By transforming a production tool into an aesthetic and conceptual artwork, Ling collapses boundaries between performance, object, and lived practice. Retaining the patina of active use, The Mooch Box carries the artist’s direct imprint, situating it as both relic and generator within the evolving world of the Mooch.
